The Canadian Parks, Protected, and Conserved Areas Leadership Collective (CPPCL), with support from Parks Canada and the Canadian Parks Council, hosted a Virtual Research Summit. By holding a virtual event, we decreased our carbon footprint, increased accessibility for participants, and supported social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic. Plenary sessions and at least one concurrent session were offered with simultaneous French/English interpretation. Recordings are available below on this page. Regional Activities
During the CPPCL Summit, participants built on the recommendation of the 2019 design workshop to facilitate and support existing interdisciplinary landscape level/regional connections among researchers, practitioners, knowledge holders, and community members.
Groups used MURAL boards (below) to identify and post as many researchers, decision-makers, knowledge holders, partners, etc. as they could who were involved in knowledge production and evidence-based decision making for parks and protected areas.
Use the MURAL board to determine which research, knowledge and evidence-based decision making relationships are the most important for your region to focus on.
Thinking back on previous sessions, as well as your own experiences and needs, brainstorm potential collaborative research projects or ideas.
